[ Have a long, long stretch of uncertain silence that's occasionally filled with brief bursts of static.

[ The transmission starts off with quiet murmuring that's barely coherent enough to be heard. Between the interference and the static, all that can be recovered of Kira's voice is this: ]
Isn't right. Wasn't right to begin with but it never is it never is it never is it never was.
Listen. You're not listening. Listen.
[ Static, then silence. It stretches on for a good three minutes, and when Kira finally speaks again, he's steeled the tremor in his voice into something unnaturally hollow: ]
Taichou.

Odd. I don't think this device is working properly.

Hm.
I'm beginning to think that people do arrive here mostly in groups. It's difficult to define a pattern, though.

Ah.
[A small, quiet hiss. The rusting of fabric as pieces of his clothes are removed so that he can better tend to his wounds.]
Not what I had been expecting, in any case. He moves too quickly. It's strange, and I should have--
[A pause as he cuts off. More rustling of fabric. He inhales suddenly, sharply, and what comes out of his mouth next resembles that of a strangled, barely choked back gasp. Another pause. He doesn't speak again until he's able to control his voice, until he can make it sound somewhat level, somewhat reserved.]
But at least it's quiet now... Or ... as quiet as it ever gets, anyway.
I wonder what--
[He stops himself again. Silence, and then the transmission ends.]

[A ton of static makes the transmission almost incomprehensible. In the background, there are two voices talking, and one of them is definitely Kira's -- the other is not so recognizable. There's a long pause where the static overwhelms the transmission, before Kira's voice cuts in again. He sounds a little strained, hesitant, and mutters a soft, practically incoherent damnit. Another pause. Clinking of metal, and then more static.]
